Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to make learning more fun! Whether you’re focusing on addition, multiplication, or financial concepts like profit and expenses, incorporating festive themes can make these topics more engaging. Our resources are perfect for both classroom and home use. Digital, self-checking task cards are ideal for independent work, while cut-and-paste activities like picture puzzles and task cards can be spread around the room or home to keep students moving and learning.

Ideas for Activities

For example, in my classroom, I set up financial literacy task cards around the room, and students move to each one, writing their answers on an answer document or whiteboard. When helping my nephew at home, I created a scavenger hunt by hiding 10 preselected cards. He had to find them and then match the answers I wrote on index cards to the correct task cards. This idea was so successful that I incorporated it into my classroom. In this version, I gave students the answers, and they had to find the task card scenario that matched. Both approaches have been great for keeping students engaged and making learning fun!
